Since Blender has no way of producing any realistic fire or smoke, I was searching for an AfterEffects plugin that could.
I found one, called eFX Pyro: http://www.pluginz.com/product/10274
I can’t order it off that website, and the link it gives me sends me to a useless page with their logo and an email address (the email address doesn’t work, I tried).
Does anybody know where I can get this plugin?
To my knowledge there is no other plugin for AE that can do this sort of thing this well, and it’s pissing me off!
If your willing to spend money, check out Effects Lab from FXhome. They have decent particle engine and presets for smoke/fire/etc… Not quite AE, but a handy tool. Runs on both PC and Mac.
Is there a way in Cinepaint to make realistic looking fire and smoke? Just painting it in isn’t going to give realistic results. It’d look like the fire in the average video game: fluffy and bright at the center of the ‘blob’.
I’ve seen particle illusion and fxhome and I didn’t think they were all that impressive really. It’d be great for far away stuff, but for close up fire, it needs to look real, you just can’t get that level of realism with a particle system.
If I do get a particle system plugin, it’ll be Trapcode’s Particular for AfterEffects.
How do they make those realistic explosions in the movies? I’m guessing a lot of gas and a green screen.
Texture maker also has a great way to make fire, you can render the flames in the particle engine, then combine the frames in GIMP or cinepaint. http://www.i-tex.de/news.php
If you want close up footage of smoke and fire light a fire in front of a black screen and either use blending modes or a keyer to place it in your footage.
