take a look at ths cool effect!: http://www.sandlotscience.com/Distortions/Breathing_objects.htm

It’s pretty much similar to a sine wave in concept.

see if you can beat the comp.! : http://www.sandlotscience.com/Games/21_matches.htm i’m trying right now…comp 1 me 0

That game is impossible to win.

took me 4 shots before understanding, darn I’m slow today.

— SPOILER ALERT —

Now I have 11/14 chances of winning, depanding on the initial number of matches.

nb = number of matches

The trick is to always leave the computer with (nb % 4 = 1) after each of your move.

Your first move is to reduce the number of matches to fit this rule. After that, always eliminate a number of matches as to always comply to this rules (that means that the number of matches that the computer eliminates + the number of matches that you eliminate must be equal to 4).

anyway, that was fun for a while.

Martin

let me try that…

you talk too fast young grasshoper…

Martin

theeth: wow…i can’t do it.

- SPOILER -

If you start with 17, 21 or 25 matches, you are screwed.

Otherwise, follow those rules.

Starting move

14, 18, 22, 26 matches: remove 1 match

15, 19, 23, 27 matches: remove 2 matches

16, 20, 24, 28 matches: remove 3 matches

After the first move, your opponent is already doom, as long as you follow that rule:

if he removes 1 match, remove 3

if he removes 2 matches, remove 2

if he removes 3 matches, remove 1

mind over matter

Martin

i won!!! LOL. thanx theeth!

you’re welcome
