Cool new game could be developed in Blender with Web Plugin

Hiya all,

Here’s a game that we’re currently developing in Shockwave, but would be interested in developing a Blender version when the ODE physics have been integrated and supported by the web player.

As the Blender technology matures, more and more indie developers will be able to use it to develop cool gaming content for online distribution.

I’m keeping an eye on Blenders progress, and can’t wait until we can work with it on new projects!

awesome stuff! I’m currently involved in developing some multiuser games in shockwave3d, also developed our own gameserver. can’t wait for the new physics in blender. hope to see some serious havok competition

Cool! Do you have a URL with a demo?

Our 3D Stress Ball game has been updated quite a bit, check out the game again at…

Sorry no demo yet. We would have loved to have it running by now but our college is in the middle of moving from one building to the next. On top of that, I’ve been nagging so long that the SysAdmin doesn’t really consider me his ‘best-buddy’ anymore. So, maybe monday when I’m back at college, in the new building, maybe the network will be up and hopefully I’ll get the SysAdmin to open up a port for me on the firewall so I can get the thing running. If that happens (all fingers & toes crossed) I’ll post here, tht the demo’s up.

Anyway, here are some screenshots of some of the characters. We don’t have an ingame shot yet.

I tried the demo on Mac OS/9 but the shockwave installer crashed my browser and I had to retype this whole post :-s , It looked cool anyway last time I tried it. I’ll give it a shot on the pc sometime…

That 3D Stress Ball game is pretty cool… reminds me of Marble Madness (was that on any platform other than Amiga?).

Anyhow… if anyone else got a bit into it, here’s my level…

It’s a bit tough, but doable… I got my own time through under 60 seconds. Here’s a hint though… when making the jump after the magnet, you need to start slowing yourself before jumping, or you’ll likely fly off the next platform.

Hrm… while I was writing, I decided to do another… this one’s harder, and a bit vain, hehe…

Really cool game, Mal. One thing though, using a comma “,” in level titles breaks it.
