Coping object to new document loses see through quality

I have made two links to these two blend files.
https://netorgft1702103-my.sharepoint.com/:u:/g/personal/don_wyomingcreations_com/EXxhoeYvCShFtdsDvYMesesB46sXC6p2zvMR68_fgmqbig?e=YpDAzr
and

So as the picture explains, I can not figure out how to re-create the effect that is shown on the left side. This cylinder object is being copied to a fresh blend document. The thing here is when I try to recreate this effect I can not because I am missing some information. WHen I try to recreate this effect it looks as it does on the right. I am missing something on how to do this.

retrying the link

The first link does not work. I will give a look at the second one. What render are you using? Is it eevee?

The problem is that in your new file you don’t have screen space refraction enabled.

I took the second file and made a copy as you did to reproduce the problem, and when I enabled the screen space refraction the problem was solved.

So I fixed the link. When I turn on screen space reflections am not able to get the same results. Maybe I should do a clean install of blender possibly. I just tried it again and I did turn on the screen space reflections and it does not fix it. The material on this mica looks like this.

Its showing IS CAMERA RAY so im thinking that depending on camera settings it may change things ?
Anyway here is mine with screen space reflections on.

its not changing it.

That’s strange because I had the same result as you had making a copy and that fixed the problem for me.

So I just tried it again, I copied the camera as well and I then as soon as I turned on the REFRACTION things started to work:

This time I copied the Camera over as well - The material is calling for IS CAMERA RAY as the factor for the material. SO now I need to figure out if that is possibly it, A camera setting ? THank you for your help Calandro

Yes, in my case I made a copy of everything together.

I’ve made another test without making a copy of the camera and it worked as well. I have no idea what happened you could not do it before, but it was not the camera,
