Any suggestion on a scene? i suck at making scenes with lighting and backgrounds

Thx in advance

Looks very good. Only thing I can suggest right now is give the tubes some thickness.

As for the copper, have you gone here www.mayang.com

BgDM

Done and done  forgot to give the bezier objects thickness

As for the mayan.com it didn’t yield anything :\

Okay - take a look at the render again - pays off to have a brilliant girlfriend who can make textures

(thx honey  )

Sigh i forgot how to “make real” a bezier and “make real” in the search menu dosen’t seem to get me the answer :\ …anyone?

do you mean ‘convert to mesh’ when you say ‘make real’? Thats as simple as ALT-C.

The copper texture is very nice. my only comment would be that the bolts on the top plate don’t look that real… they aren’t shiny/marred enough.

The scene is interesting, what are you trying to convey? Just tubes and copper? If so then you have succeeded.

Maybe make a rusty tank with a bolted on window and some liquid inside that they connect to?

Realistic materials often depends on SPEC and HARD settings more than the texture you asign to it. Metals have low HARD value an kindda high SPEC value. You can always try the material library, though I don’t have the link maybe someone else will be kind enough to sign it.

I only did this to show my father (who’s gonna help make the third and last waterblock) how it was going to end up looking

It is my watercooling system that keeps my 2350 mhz AMD at a breezy 31c idle

yes i haven’t fixed the screws yet, and the ‘convert to mesh’ is going to be used together with the ‘build’ effect to make a liquid flow thru the tubes.
Any suggestions on a diffrent approach to make the liquid flow?

My idea was to copy the bezier tube and ‘convert to mesh’, then add a ‘build’ effect to it and colorize it.

(i would still like suggestions for a better scene - the box + ‘mist’ dosen’t seem to cut it for me  )

Add a motherboard and some neon, attach the water blocks to chips or heatsinks. Add fans…

here is my attempt at a copper material…just basically use the same concept as i use for chrome… if u want the blend ill upload it

In my exp. copper is more orange, yours is a little too yellow but i would love to see the blend so i could tweak it

why not spam a little bit more just for the hell of it

heres a quick fly-around of the setup
