Hey, first post with all this new mumbo-jumbo, i haven’t been able to blend for a while, so i started kicking this one out. 1 bonus point if you can guess the inspiration.
c&C please!

you need to work on lighting, textures and your modeling… What exactly is this?
its a spaceship, or it will be when i get around to finishing it. just bulky shapes for now
[edit]by the way, thats not a terribly useful comment. its kind of like looking at someone’s work and saying ‘make it better.’ I’ve just got the bluky shapes right now, and i’d appreciate comments that aren’t ‘work on your modelling’ which is useless because it doesn’t tell me anything. {/edit}

okay, getting some greeble experimentation going on. By the way, whenever i texture cylindrical objects, the textures get crazy for some reason. I have the mapping on ‘tube’ but it doesn’t help. You can see the problem pretty clearly in the picture, and i’m not sure how exactly to fix it. Maybe i’ve just been away from blender too long, but any input would be helpful… thanks in advance.
the bridge was pissing me off something fierce, never working quite right, so i swapped it out for a more Starcraft battlecruiser-esqe peice. Tell me what you think, help on that tube problem would be great.

[edit] I’m stupid. Here’s the image. [/edit]
working on some of the ship’s weaponry. This baddie is going to be a Point Defence Cannon, modelled after old WWII flak guns. still working on the tubes, although i fixed some of them by mapping it to flat. Maybe i’m just blanking on an easy answer here.
