Coth bake to mesh?

Hi I’m pretty sure its just me not understanding the fundamentals of the cloth sim and baking etc…

I have a cloth dropping to the ground… it works great… but when I go into edit mode the mesh is still at its original location and shape?

I thought that perhaps the “bake all to frames” might fix this but I can’t see that it changes anything.

Applying the cloth modifier just changes it to the current shape for all frames it seems…

That is the nature of simulations. The results of the current frame are based upon the results of the last frame.You can not edit the frames manually. You may be able to export the object as a MDD file then use the MeshCache modifier to play it back.

If you are not happy with the simulation try changing the simulation settings to effect the changes you want to edit manually. Add small invisible collision object etc…
