Could Retopolgy help?

Hi everyone!

I made a model with multires and mirror, I also devided it to make seams for a UV Texture.
The main problem I have, that I can’t paint on the model/texture in blender, also it won’t load in Bodypaint 3D, Mari, Substance Painter and 3D Coat correctly, in some of them the loading time is so huge that I close the programm (after 15-30 min of loading) or the programm will crash.

So I don’t know what I can do now. I only heared of retopology, which should help to decrease the polys of high poly models. But I’m not sure if it will help, that I can finish the model for working in UE4 (with textures and animation included).

This is my model, as you see I did some material on it, thats the reason why I’m unsure if retopology brings up all these details.
