Counter-strike

Is there anyway to make counter-strike maps with Blender? Normally I wouldn’t ask this, especailly since I don’t think you can, but all of my friends want me to make a map, they assume, oh they work with 3D, they must be able to make a CS map, and really don’t want to use one of those stupid editors… well thanx.

probably u have to use one …

i think, it is pretty different to make a cs map than doing a blender scene, because u dont have as much possibilities (bumbmap and all that) and u have to care all the time, that it is fast enough … and in the end a good cs map does not need any good design, imo - its just the gameplay that counts

/me plays cs as well

AFAIK, there’s no export to the format CS uses for maps, but you can probably export to a format (like OBJ) which could then be read by another program which can write the proper file.

or

Learn Python (if that’s not already done) and create an export script.

you can make the map in blender and export it using ether the obj or lwo python scripts, and the use a program called deep exploration (http://www.righthemisphere.com/products/dexp/index.htm) to export it as a quake (1 2 or 3) map and then use Quark( which also uses python) to fix the textures up.

aparently there is a plugin for deep exploration that allows you to import and export being made at the moment

and

they say they will give you the SDK if you interested in making a plugin for it

Thanx every one, also, at cgtalk.com I someone making an unreal map that was pretty coo, and more true to a 3d artist’s style, if ne one knows what they used that’d be helpful too, Thanx again!
