Crapper (and picture): As promised, a free mesh to download.

This will forever be a WIP, because a true artist is never 100% satisfied with his own work.

Here’s the “bare-bones” blender file to download…

Here’s a Yaffed scene with the toilet, and seperate paper holder.

For this scene, I got some great tile textures here, free…

Looks very nice. Two issues I can see though: the toilet paper seems too flat. Add a small bump or disp map to it just to give it that toilet paper look. Now it looks more like printing paper on a roll. Also, the area around the toilet where it contacts the floor seems a bit harsh at the moment. It needs a bit more shadow there I think. Otherwise, looks great!

Wow, great render! Just a few crits: The materials all look a bit ‘dull’ they don’t reflect the light very much. In particular I think the toilet would have more spec, as ceramic is quite shiny. I also agreed with Aorus about the toilet paper needing to be thicker too.

Nicely done!

Having said that, a few crits:

-Too well lit for a rest room.
-Flush handle looks ceramic.
-Baseboard tiles usually have built-in cove molding.
-tank and cover corners/edges need to be more rounded (keeps them
from breaking in the kiln and after).
-plunger needs to be deeper.

Hope I’m not nit-picking. Well done, really!

Low RES. Why? It takes too damn long to “tweak” a Yafray picture. Once I get the correct lighting, then I can Yaff it at high Res and some OSA…

I Have had the FRES up 100% on the previous pictures, so now it is a matter of lighting. Choosing the correct lights. positions, etc…

The flush is plastic (at the dollar store). Just kidding. The chrome took too long on my small previews, so I am waiting for the “Ffinal Overnight” render for any chrome.

@ Kokirii
What? "Rest Room? This is the bathromm that is actually in my apartment. My real bathroom has no baseboards. My Landlord is a cheap ---- . That plunger was a 5 minute prop. The tank. That thing, again. I subsurfed one too many times on that. Shame on me. I used to be a faithful ceramic student and artist.

All kidding aside.

I agree with all of your crits, and will have improvements. Including textures on the toilet paper, a deodorizer and a Playboy magazine on the tank lid. And I can’t forget the feminine pictures that the wife hangs on the walls.

Reminds me a lot of the ueber cheapo toilet papers they usually have in schools and public toilets. I think sometimes I WOULD prefer printing paper on a roll, hehehe.

Chrome handle. Not looking real…

Looking good, definitely looks improved with the more reflective ceramic.

Same settings as before

  • Weird shadows under tank lid. What the hell is that?
  • Chrome handle is still phoney looking.

um the picture im seeing is not a toilet

Oops! While having several windows open (of the same website) I copied and pasted a “Picture/Link” tag from another forum and somehow didn’t replace my URLs.

I couldn’t remember how to write the tag, that’S I why I copied and pasted it.

Chrome Flusher…
http://mysite.verizon.net/vze3nvj6/Blender/forum/ChrFlush.jpg
This is just a quick picture of the Flusher Mesh, this image is not intended as a “finished project”.

I will post the mesh (Blend file) for users to download. It is nearly complete. Actually, all that is needed is a topper, or end cap.

That’s looking good. The chrome in the tube looks good, but I think it has to be a bit dirtier in the gear thing (don’t know how it’s called). But this one and the other images are all looking good.

Oh no man. The janitor just came by and cleaned it up real nice. He wanted to make sure it looked good for the forum here.

 Thanks for the crit.

UPDATE:
Bare-Bones project.
The toilet mesh is now improved with better hinges. Included is a Basic Blend file and a YafRay Blend file. Lighting, color, and some texturing customized for both projects. Very simple, nothing elaborate.

…and of course, the optional chrome flusher, that replaces the tank, can be downloaded HERE.
