C & C are welcome.

Heh, I like the pun.

It could do with a displacement map to really get the effect across.

Nice poo.

Sonix.

My advice, see a doctor. :stuck_out_tongue:

Dunno about you, but I’ve never seen specular poo. :stuck_out_tongue:

You obviously don’t inspect it well enough! :o

Man, that picture is real CRAP!

Thanks for the comments, everyone. Disp mapping makes it all pointy for some reason, else I would’ve used it. 8)

And OSA 16 does not help? Or are we talking about different things?

About pointy displacement mapping:

It looks to me like the specularity really needs some anti-aliasing.

If OSA isn’t doing the trick, try rendering the pic at 3 or 4 times the production size and scaling it down in a 2d image editing app.

Its not crappy!

i think the spec is too high.

that or my dog’s crap is too dry.

Easy fix. Use a seperate texture channel for the displacement map to the Nor map.

IMPORTANT - make sure the NOR slider is at 0 for this texture channel, otherwise you will get really bad results. (Pointy mesh explosion.)

Use a high level of sub-surf on the sphere, 2 or 3 or higher if your comp can cope.

Specular poo is usually fresh. :o
