Crash on Large Render

I’m trying to render a character with fur, and Blender crashes when I try to render high-resolution output. Currently I’m just trying to render at 1800x2400. It will render at 75% but not at 100%. I actually need to render it much larger than that though, because it’s going to be used for a poster-size print.

thanks in advance for any help,
-paul

Probably your machine is running out of memory.

You could try the ReallyBigRender script. It will render the image in sections which you can reassemble with an image editor. I don’t know if it works with 2.49a but give it a try:-
