I’ve recently decided to make the switch from 3d max and Modo to Blender. Installed it today and immediately I’m greeted with a Crash to desktop. The crash happens as soon as I open up the material tab. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
My specs are as follows,
Intel core i7 @ 3.07GHz
6GB RAM
Geforce GTX 560 Ti
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
I appreciate it is a fairly old system, but I’m running Max and Modo on this system with zero problems.
To me version 2.8 is behaving buggy in various ways all the time (crashing is only one of many issues). I still use it only for toying around, but stick still with 2.79 for more serious things.
Delete camera, model some stuff, accidentally click the render button, see desktop and lose your work. Seems Blender 2.8 lacks some much needed error handling atm. Still, I wouldn’t want to go back to 2.79…
thousands of crashes like this (when clicking on material ta) are being reported and almost all of them is connected to GPU drivers.
Did you try downloading the latest drivers?
