Crash while baking normals from high poly sculpt

I did a nice sculpt (good for me at least haha) of a dinosaur head in blender 2.59 with as many verts as my cheap four year old laptop could handle. However, after I retopoed and attempted to bake out my normals, blender crashes every time. Unfortunately, when I go a level down on the multires I get ugly distortions. Are there any tricks I can employ to get blender to not crash when baking the textures from the highest level?

Thanks a bunch

it seems you are low in memory

I figured it had something to do with that. What I was wondering is if there are any work arounds (besides buying a new computer that is haha)

give us the blend and we can give ya tips

I was told in a former post to use PasteAll.org for file sharing. However, it is restricted in size and so I couldn’t use it. I don’t know much about this site, so let me know if there are problems. http://www.sendspace.com/file/j3bopt

thanks again

OMG 7.000.000 faces :P. How much and what kind of memory you have right now. I have some DDR3 2GBlaptop memory modules but… anyway. this is a easy solution for now.

this is a smaller version 1024 pixels. but if you are interested in the large version 12MB 2048 pix.
