Hi. I’m a (very) new user. I’m using Mac. Since Mac’s keyboard is not friendly and the mouse are not comfortable to play with Blender, so I already replace it with PC’s keyboard and mouse. The mouse got scrolling MMB. And I’m using Blender 2.5.
My problem is to navigate the 3D view with that mouse. The only that works is ctrl-MMB. Anything else just can’t work. For sure, the mouse isn’t the problem.
In “File–>User Preferences…” under the “Input” section you can check the “emulate 3 button mouse” box. This allows you to do all the 3D navigating you need without having to use the MMB at all. (Not quite sure if that answers your question, but there it is.)
