Creasing causes detail to "lift" off base. (Newbie)

I apologize for asking for what is probably an easy fix, but I’m still new to Blender and have run into a problem I can’t wrap my head around.

In the image below, I have a roundish base object that I am adding detail to. The detail needs to have sharp edges, but when I crease the edges to sharpen them, it lifts one of the points on the detail up at a curve.

How do I fix this and is there a better alternative to creasing?

Set the crease of the vertical edge (center edge of the side of your “shell”) at the tip of your pointy issue to 0 and it is solved.
