Create a face out of a closed "Path" curve

Hi there,

is there a way to create a face out of a closed “Path” curve without covering it to a mesh?

You have to set it to be a 2D curve in curve / shape settings

It works, but the game engine doesn’t recognize the face, therefore it shoes nothing…

I guess there is not an automatic conversion to mesh such as for a text object.

Any workaround for that?

No, except convert to a mesh

Converting it to a mesh gives me a lot of useless vertexes, segments and faces.
Is there any way to reduce their number without doing it manually?

In mesh edit mode - select all, Delete ->Limited Dissolve would give nice n-gons. This in turn will be triangulated automatically upon export or in game engine - you might not like a result…However ngons can be better starting point for the editing.

Automatical triangulation of an n-gon looks better that converting the curve into a mesh a priori which generates a lot more triangles.
