Is there a way to create a Bezier curve only in the X/Y plane, but still have the 3D view set to a random angle? I would like to add new points to a Bezier curve by ctrl+left clicking but I want the curve’s Z value to always be the same as the previous point.
One way is to create a plane mesh on the X/Y axes and turn on Snapping, with Faces mode (with Project Individual Elements on too, I think. Try it out).
The plane is only there for the snapping, it can be deleted once you’re finished.
A Shrinkwrap modifier could work this way too, applied to the curve with that plane as target.
Use 2d curve, not 3d.
