Creating a constraint with an ability to Offset an object at any time

Hi there! So I came from a Maya background. In Maya I setup my object constraint system in the way, that the object (Pickaxe) is able to follow the hand, but at the same time I am able to offset it and control the “Pickaxe” independently. Is there a way to replicate something similar in Blender?

Use an “Child off Constrain”.

Hi, you could constrain the object to an Empty and constrain the empty or parent to the hand bone.
That should give you the ability to move/rotate the object.
Or as Romanji suggested.

Yeah, I would definitely put an empty in-between so you can apply the transformations and its easy to reset the position by simply zeroing it out (or using ALT+G).

I did this but I really need this pickaxe to be controlled via armature.

Hi, then select the pickaxe then the armature and parent>bone. you should still be able to rotate and move the pickaxe on it’s own or with the hand control.
