Creating a face between two edges.

I am making the map for my FPS and wish to create a face between multiple edges on both sides. I press F and nothing happens. the console says face.add() but no face was added.

Pressing F works when I have 2 faces selected but never when there is more than that. Here is a picture of what I am talking about.

How would I create a face between the edges on both sides. F is not working.

Ensure you are only selecting those edges. Remove any double vertices (select all vertices and W / remove doubles)
