Creating Elizabeth Bennet - Continued - Part 2

Developing the Regency Costume

Clothing became one of the most challenging parts of the character. I started with a purchased Regency-inspired garment as a base and used Marvelous Designer to adapt it specifically to Elizabeth’s body proportions.

I created a fitting workflow around my Character Creator avatar, tested garment fitting and simulation, adjusted the dress, and developed a warmer brown-and-cream palette that better suited my interpretation of Elizabeth.

The garment was then brought back into Character Creator 5, where I transferred skin weights and tested the dress against different character poses. Long skirts presented an additional challenge because automatic skin weighting can produce deformation when the legs move, requiring further testing and correction.
