creating games

is blender capable of creating games with extremly high quality and graphics like PS# or Xbox 360

Blender is capable of making good graphical quality in games (see Yo Frankie!), but it can’t do every graphical effect that can be done with the Xbox 360 and PS3 (reflect/refract, volumetric textures, soft shadows and GI). Video texture support is being worked on.

Welcome to BA.
No, Blender isn’t capable of those kinds of graphics. Maybe someday it will, but by then gaming consoles will be absolutely astounding.

ok thanx, but one more question. can other programs like cinema 4D, 3Ds max, maya etc. make games too?

Blender is the only fully featured 3D app. that has a built in game engine which can deliver a full complete game.

The other big apps. don’t, you have to model in those apps. then do the logic in a stand alone game engine.

so in the other app. you can make the graphics but you need a regular game engine to make the game? if thats true how do you put the models and graphics made in another program like cinema 4d
and put them in the game engine and start making the game?

1 more question (sorry if im getting on your nerves im new and i need help) but
whats the best 3d program that has the best realistic 3d graphics, and best 3d effects?
heres and example of what i mean http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/wrath/intro.xml

o ok, but if i was to create models, and 3d graphics in another program like cinema 4d how would i put the graphics into a game engine and start making the game?

1 more question (sorry if im getting on your nerves with all these questions im new and i really ned help)

I think Blender is your best bet when it comes to a free game engine.

o ok, would if I made excellent realistic models, 3d graphics and effects in a program like cinema 4d how would i put the graphics on a game engine and start making the game?

I don’t think there’s much in the way of fully featured free engines that can do graphics to the level of Crysis.

Go look at some Yo-Frankie screens, the BGE can do those nice looking graphics and is your best bet if you want everything you need in one app. and ease of use.

whats BGE?
and just so that were on the same page is a game engine something you make games on?

Blender Game Engine.

oooooo ok i was correct lol.
and does the game engine make the games have good graphics or does the models and 3d things itself make the graphics?

There’s no ‘give me awesome graphics’ button, you need to make the graphics and textures yourself.

And seriously, when you’re asking things like ‘do you make games on a game engine’ it’s obvious you should find articles and books on the subject of game creation, that way instead of asking us 100’s of questions, you can look it up in the many sources you can find to help teach you these things.

The Blender wiki gives good info too.

ok sorry for the questions

graphics are worthless if the game play sucks. work on that first

Learn a programming language.
Maybe get a career if you’re so interested.

by learning a programming language will that make my gameplay and graphics more efficient?
and can the blender productions people make their game Yo Frankie! better? or is that the best the BGE can do like the texturing in all?
