Creating GLSL shaders for 2.41?

Blender GE 2.41 now supports GLSL shaders… cool! The way I understand it (and please correct me if I’m wrong) is that GLSL shaders are created by writing custom code. Is there an easier way?

I found a couple tools out there for creating GLSL code, most notable is “ShaderGen” ( http://developer.3dlabs.com/downloads/shadergen/index.htm ). Can this be used to create the code? Has anyone tried?

Thanks!

I think that Blender Game engine has only a few built in shader function nowadays. So you can use only them now.
Correct me if I’m wrong.

Hey guys I’m loser in programing but someone who are good programmer maybe could make something like a python script which may read C or C++ shaders ganerated with ShaderGen or other shaders. %|

C or C++ Shaders??
I think all programs generate the GLSL (OpenGL Shading Language)
if you want to embed it in blender it is python code, but the shader code itself is the same.

ofcourse …but GLSL is more or less like C or C++. :stuck_out_tongue:
