im trying to model a roll-cage or the inteior frame of a car. its easier for me to create one using lines instead of fiddleing with cubes and cylinders and extrusions. So is there a way i can create a mesh model with simple lines and then have blender replace the lines with cylinders so i can render it?
Not that I know of, but you could always just make a plane, subdivide as many times as nessecery and then make it wireframe.
Hope that helps.
Use bezier curves to draw your roll cage then bevel them (extrude a bezier circle along their length). Here is a simple tutorial.
When you’re happy with the shapes, if you wish the curves can be converted to meshes with Alt-C.
yes that is exatly what i wanted, thx
