CTRL and the + key no longer extends selected vertices, nor does CTRL and - work.

I’m on a laptop computer and this feature stopped working for me.

in preferences I have “emulate num pad” and “emulate 3 button mouse” active, since I do not have a separate number pad.

Justing the CTRL key plus the ‘+’ key worked up until yesterday for me, now it does not work.

I’m still in vertex edit mode but I accidentally pressed a two button combination yesterday that wasn’t what I thought it was. Can’t remember which buttons those were, but I wonder if I entered some sort of mode that disables the plus key expanding vertice selection.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can fix this?

Perhaps there is a “switch everything back to defaults” option, as if starting a new project, I can use to regain the CTRL ++ key functionality?

Start a new file and append the scene from your saved file

Try using select in the header. If it works, then you probably need to toggle your num lock on your PC. or as Richard suggested.

Ok that works! My clarity is so limited I’m glad you guys suggested these things.

But… do I even HAVE a number lock on this Sony VAIO laptop? I actually don’t see one on this laptop. this is weird. Alright, it’s got to be ONE of these keys… plus the Function key, right?

Oh, so I think I just had to turn the computer off and on to reset/deactivate the hidden number lock key on my Sony VAIO.
Simple stuff!
