Ctrl hotkey-functions won't work Blender 2.57 Ubuntu 10.10

Hello,

Because I’m working on a project with someone who was using blender 2.57 already, I wanted to update from 2.49 to 2.57. So I downloaded the tar.bz2-file and extracted it. Luckily, it works. However, the functions which have shortcuts (like ctrl-z/undo, ctrl-n/new file, ctrl-s/save) don’t work. And because these are the major functions, I really want them to work. I run Ubuntu 10.10.

I hope you can do something with it.

One of the mouse settings was causing this problem for me.

Uncheck “show position of pointer with CTRL key”, restart Gnome

Thank you very much, it worked!

you advice also helped me

yes! It worked! Thank you! I found the option in Mouse settings under “Touchpad”.
