CUDA binary kernel for this graphics card compute capability (3.5) not found

HI guys, I’m way down on the learning curve for setting up a new graphics card. I get this error with a Titan. I’m using the latest release I could find - 2.66.1, same error on 2.66a I used previously. In User Preferences I can select either CPU or CUDA and I get the option in the Render panel for Device: GPU Compute, however I get the above error when I try and render using it. I am assuming that either these builds don’t have the required support in them or I need to install something outside of Blender to get it to work. Having scoured the forum and other Blender sites I can find any definitive recipe for setting up this card. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

BTW, I’m running Win 7 Pro 64.

Hi, you need a build with included cuda kernel 3.5, it is not official supported.
Try this:

Cheers, mib.

I would love to see some benchmarks with Titan, currently considering getting one myself.

Hi Mib

Thanks for the info and the link.

Unfortunately, When I try and run this build I get the following error:

[Window Title]
D:\Downloads\9528_win7.x64-55297\Win7.x64-55297\blender.exe

[Content]
D:\Downloads\9528_win7.x64-55297\Win7.x64-55297\blender.exe

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail.

[OK]

Looks like there is something incompatible in this build with my setup.

Paul

Hi Richard, thanks for that. I should have realised. Sorry, I’d assumed that it was a Blender issue and not an OS one.

OK, now I’m up and running thanks to help on this forum.

@Bloodwork, was there any particular benchmark that you were looking at?

Paul

Just download the build from this guy:

Instead of going throuhg the hassle of building it yourself

This error suddenly popped up on my win8 machine. I’m using cuda enabled builds.

Anyone know of a solution? Post 5 doesn’t seem to fix anything, and isn’t latest for win8…
