CUDA detection problem in Cycles?

Is there some problem with detection of CUDA GPU? I have nVidia GeForce 9300M G (it’s in laptop).

I also have the latest driver

GeForce 9300M G
Has been detected in your system.
Your current driver is 266.58
Latest Driver Version 266.58

but in dropdown list where I select engine to compute rendering, there are currently only OpenCL (doesn’t work because my pc supports opencl 1.0 and it needs 1.1+) and CPU but that’s all. No CUDA option. So is the problem at my side or is the detection buggy.

Are you using a build of blender that is CUDA enabled ?
Try a build from http://graphicall.org/

Ok I’ve downloaded the build from http://graphicall.org/569 and it seems, that the same problem is still there.

go to nvida site and update the driver…worked for me…i also thought i had the correct driver but after the update it showed up

I’ve the last one as I wrote above (I updated it last week, name of this driver is “266.58_notebook_winxp_32bit_international_whql”). Do you have the same graphic card as I have?

your driver is old, now it is 2.85, you need 2.80 and over to have CUDA, and a CUDA enabled build.

I’ve the last one as I wrote above (I updated it last week,

and from where did you updated, ignore the manufacturer of your laptop,
go to nVidia site search for your card and download the drivers from there.

Yes, you are right, 2.85 is the newest, but only for win vista and 7. I have XP and for this platform there is newest what I have and it’s downloaded form nVidia site. So any other ideas or there is no help? (i don’t want to reinstall my system :frowning: )

If you can’t use the driver 2.80 or over then you cannot use CUDA.

Updating your OS is, I think, the only way to get CUDA rendering working.

OK guys, thanks for answers. I think it’s “solved”, but I leave it open, for case of some solution
