Culling Rectangle

Hi all,

I’m working on a sidescrolling platformer template and am looking to create a culling rectangle that follows the camera.

My initial approach would be to get a list of scene objects and store their coordinates. Have all the objects ended to start with then just create them when they lie within coordinates defined by the camera.

Culling isn’t something I’ve worked with in the BGE so if anyone knows a better approach I’d really appreciate it :slight_smile:


I can remember a thread from ideasman42. He used such method to demonstrate LOD. It was a fly over a forest with a lot of trees that are dynamically added. Maybe you can find that.
