Here is my take on it. I just freehanded the cup handle first to get the edge loops right. And, spun remaining cup sides:

I did with cylinder and ears with 2d curves.

Its Curve object. Menu:Add>Curve>Bezier etc.

A closed curve inside another closed curve makes a hole. I loves me some curves.
