Curly - 3d Character

Hey. This animation is of a character I recently made for a short film that I hope to make. I would love to hear what people think about the modeling and animation, especially at these early stages. Thanks

lol - that’s a cute mini test animation Mini - makes ya smile

nice  but i think it needs at least arms and a mouth to make expressions.

well done ive never done an animation so i cant realy say anything constructive

Thanks for the replies. One thing I need to work on is the actual material for Curly. I wanted him to appear plasticy, but at the moment I’m not sure he looks that way. Any other suggestions on how to achieve this effect would be great.

Job- I wanted to try animating a character who can effectively express himself through his eyes, which is why there is no mouth. Do you think he needs eyebrows if I he has no mouth? Also, I’ve considered adding arms, though I kinda like him without them. But, if animating without arms is too difficult I will definitely add them.

Thanks again.

he definatly needs eyebrows, than you can pretty much animate all emotions  arms aren’t really important but i should add them (just to learn animating  )

Funny little guy. Needs eyebrows. Nice tough.

Hey all. I tried adding eyebrows to Curly but ended up deciding against them. I have always imagined him without eyebrows which I think is why I don’t like them, but… you can check them out and tell me what you think.

I also fooled around with a low poly model, trying out different expressions. Here are a few that I came up with.

Also, in my animation I am going to need to show curiosity, but I’m not quite sure how to do that. I’m finding it hard to show without the use of arms. If anyone could help me out with achieving this, that would be great. Thanks

love the animation from the looks of it adn what i have sean in your pictures the “normal” face looks kind of curius like he is interested in some thing and is gong to follow it

love the model hope to see more
