cursor "lagging" in blender (XFree-4.3.0)

the problem is that my cursor produces “lag” in blender.

the “lag” i’m talking about looks like this:

  • in the menus the surrounding of the cursor (the size of the cursor image) is in the wrong colour, and the text under it dissapears
  • on the other parts of blender, it’s just that the colour changes under it, and the surface under it seems empty (=just the grid in the main window)
  • this effect changes back to normal when i pass the cursor towards another part of blender (like changing form view one to view two, or from the main part to the buttons part)

it’s REALLY anoying, and i couldn’t figure it out yet :frowning:

i have a Geforce 2 MX, btw

p.s. pity that my first post has to be a bug, i like blender a lot, but with this bug in the way it’s really a pain to use it :frowning: …please help

you using official nvidia drivers?

if not, get them and install them according to the readme.

nvidia are the best to use with blender, so no need to worry about bugs.

blender’s interface uses opengl, which is what makes it so portable, though some hardware isn’t opengl complient (ati) nvidia is though.

Maybe you installed Win XP and use the default drivers. Their GL suxXxorZ j0r boxXxor I can tell…
So go follow dittoZ adviZ0r

Man I´m 1337. Or it´s da beer.

A. it’s definitly the beer.

B. he’s using linux or unix, or another system that uses xfree86.

Try turning off XFree86’s pointer shadows, or skinned cursors.

distro/OS:gentoo linux
kernel/OS: vanilla-2.4.20
drivers: latest official nvidia (work great otherwise)
cursor: using the default cursor, shadows option not on
blender: 2.27 from source, but the same happens with the static precompile

:o man, I´m sorry for so much dumbness in one person.

hey man no problem. your right though. the drivers that come with windows suck.
