I am modelling a PS4 controller, and while I’m somewhat fighting my way through using extrudes, vertex merges and the knife tool, I am having trouble with the handles. I can flatten out uneven surfaces with scaling to 0, but I wonder if there is a way to even out the curvature of the handle to a smooth tubular shape. Even with very low vertex count on that part, I just can’t get a smooth shape by having the loops flow naturally from the top/right/front views only.
I tried the smooth brush in the sculpt mode, but didn’t really get what I need. Is there something like to_tubus or to_cone or somesuch? Do people add a tube and snap vertices to the object? Add circles instead of the existing hand made vertices? What’s your workflow to get smooth natural curves?
