I see clear instructions how to create a curve in this example, given a set of vertices in a flat plane. (“Proportional Edit” The wiki link was not permitted … sorry)
The results there affect all vertices within the “influence circle” in both the x and y axis. What I am looking for is to apply the influence to only the vertices on the same x or y axis, without affecting vertices in the adjacent rows of vertices (if that is possible). Or better yet, to apply a curve within the “influence circle” on only a set of selected vertices, without affecting non-selected vertices (if that is possible).
I have seen the belzier and other curve tools – not what I was looking for (although cool too). I want to affect a curve to existing vertices – not create new ones on a sketched line.
