Curved Surface Fluid Interaction

I’m using the Blender internal fluid sim. My resolution is decent (300). I’m pretty satisfied with the appearance of the fluid, but when it conforms to the curved bowl, it has these blocky artifacts. Is there any way to procedurally smooth these out without destroying the rest of it?
