Just tried it and it is the same, in the tutorial the guy is having the full blender logo as a curve and when he extrude he got capped surface for the whole logo.
Edit: I will also copypaste what I said below to give a more complete solution: you have to rotate it so it sits on the XY plane, then aply the rotation and you’re done.
There is always a catch! When i hit the 2D button my custom curve collapse as a line, i tried to apply rotation and scale but still doing the same thing anyone have a clue?
There is a stack exchange here that mention applying rotation fix the issue but not with my custom curve since applying rotation just before hitting the 2D button yield the same result of a collapse line.
Can you show how it looks like? Maybe some parts aren’t closed, also depending of the complexity of the shiluette it might not be well draw, such as if there are curves overlaping or coming in an out of each other…
Yes i was doing a small gif to show and i have verify the curve if it was close and everything seem Ok.
This is starting to look similar to an issue in max where i was converting a mesh edge to spline and often i had to redraw the spline for some tools to work correctly so maybe it’s the same kind of problem here.
