Well, I know its not the best of my work, but I started the remodel a while ago so I decided I’d better finish it up for a number of reasons. Besides, this is my first finished car.
C&C are welcome, even though I probably won’t have time to apply many of them.
Well, I can’t lie. It looks like it needs more work. The fenders look bent, the seams dont line up, and the bumper looks to flat. It’s not bad for a first shot at a car, but I think you should bury it or do a good bit more work on it before you call it finished.
The placement of the background makes it look like a very large blue object is about to (ka-fhwump!) “squash that sucker flat!” Slide the background downward so that the “point” is obscured by the car. That will make it look like the car is in front of the background, as it should.
The reflections on the side-panel need to be a highlight superimposed upon the “main” reflection, so that the entire side-panel does not appear (as it does now) to be crumpled. The hood looks more reasonable in this regard.
There’s a lot of “banding.” (Even on the hood.)
The front of the car looks squashed: there needs to be a little more room between “where the front of the front wheel ends” and the front of the car.
The lighting needs to illuminate the front of the car, the interior, and the top-edge of the windshield. The surface of the windshield is blown-out to white.
The top of the hood seems to “sit upon” and slightly protrude over the front-side-panel. It seems to do so on the left side of the car but not the right, as though the hood plane was too-wide.
I’m sorry for the render-time you still are facing … but this generally-very-nice model badly needs the additional work before you should consider it “done” or ship it anywhere.
Whoops. I forgot to mention the car is supposed to look dented. And yes the wheel placement is intended. Not to say it couldn’t use more work. But well… I want to move on to other projects, which include modelling another car by different meansand with now greater experience. And yes, I know it looks bad. I still don’t get the thing about the big falling blue object though, nor do I understand what banding means. Render times were under an hour. But keep criticizing. I can understand that the car looks even worse to those so much more experienced at cars.
