Cut half circle through cube.

this is what I got:

https://files.me.com/mjtimothyscott/rbh6no

I would like to cut the quarter sphere out cube then join them and uv unwrap. if you look at the blend file, the flat area inside the quarter sphere, I would like to cut and through to the otherside.

the final outcome should look like the quarter sphere has two tile like corners.

or if it is easier, just cut the half circle out and leave the cube like it is after the cut.

Can someone please help

thanx

i can’t get a picture of what you want. can you make it clearer?

the flat area inside the quarter sphere?
two tile like corners?
just cut the half circle out and leave the cube like it is after the cut?

Right. Maybe actually do a sketch of what you want using pencil and paper, scan/photograph it and upload somewhere?

This flanged sphere thing is little tricky. Here is how I approach it:

> Make UV Sphere, segment it appropriately
> Use Solidify to add thickness and cut it in quarter, pic A
> Face the edges and extrude outer ring outward so that flange can be formed, pic B
> Merge outer points to form a corner, pic C
> Mirror the other half

I did use Transform Property many times to place the points at the right place. I did try to build from quarter sphere but it simply didn’t Solidify properly. So you do need to build from full sphere.

thank you. i will give it a try tonight when I get home.
