Cut mesh at exact height

I have multiple meshes that I need to cut at an exact height. You can see from the image that there are two half spheres. One inside the other. I want to cut both of them straight across at 0.125 units on the z axis.

If I loop cut, I have the option to slide the cut as a percentage, but can’t place it at an exact height.

If I knife cut, I can use the midpoints to cut straight across, but then the cuts are not at the same z-axis height.

Any ideas?

Boolean modifier

I’ve tried that. The resulting mesh is pretty deformed. It would take a long time to clean it up.

You know what, the boolean worked much better after I separated the two meshes. Still required some clean up, but it wasn’t too bad.

I guess you could draw a cross section and use the spin feature!
