Cycles Alpha Transparency Texture Issue


I’m having some issues understanding why my low poly hair textures are looking weird in Blender Cycles.

Here is a screenshot of my issue:

I’m reasonably new to Blender so I’m hoping this should be a simple fix.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.



Indeed that looks a bit weird, can you post the textures and a .blend containing some hairs ? It’s hard to see what’s wrong from here.
I was wondering if it’s just the transparency map that needs to be inverted. Or maybe a wrong srgb conversion…

I’m sure that’s easily fixable !

Could it be that the alpha wants non color data?
