Cycles and hair

i was wondering if there a way i can set up a color ramp in cycles on hair so base start at one color the tip end at another. ?

But to answer the original poster’s question. The Strand Info Node has something called “Intercept” this output gives you 0 at the root, and 1 at the tip. So if you plug it into a Mix node factor’s input. You can change from one shader to another.

You can use a colour ramp to get control over the gradient.
