Cycles Environment Baking

Is environment-baking via cycles capable of rendering objects in the scene instead of just the sky or background texture? I’ve spent the better part of three days researching and trying out new approaches, but I haven’t been successful yet. If the cycles environment-baking isn’t feasible for rendering all scene objects, is there another way of rendering the scene from an arbitrarily-curved mesh’s perspective? I would really appreciate any guidance or wisdom that can be given for this.


Solved. Here’s the solution in case others want it: set up a node graph using glossiness and do a Combined bake. It works pretty great for baking Cycles hair to polygonal hair.
