Cycles generates wrong colors on new computer, same file, same blender version, why could this be?

Hello,

I just switched from an HP Pavillion laptop with an i7 7th and a Geforce 940mx to an MSI GE75 Raider with an i7 10th and a Geforce 2070 RTX and I’m having trouble rendering with cycles on this machine.

The following images were rendered from the same file without any changes to Blender’s settings.
HP:

MSI:

The correct material colors are the ones from the HP render. They also show up fine on the material preview window and material preview mode on the viewport, it’s only when rendering with cycles that it messes up.

I appreciate any help or ideas on how to fix this :frowning:

PD: This happens regardless if I use the GPU or CPU to render on the MSI laptop.

EDIT: Also this is Blender 2.93

Is the blender version different? Not that I know anything that could cause that, but anyway.
Any Addons which you previously had installed?

Btw: do you have any extreme lightning setup, like low expsure with bright lights?

The HP render look so different, so wrong. Maybe by deactivating the post processing step by step you find, what is causing this: Composition, colormanagment, …

Thank you! I went through each light and effect activating it/deactivating it and have found out what caused the issue.

Turns out it was just a broken path to the HDRI texture I was using and it appears that when that happens blender uses some red color as a placeholder.
