Cycles GPU renderer can't render volume scatter

Hello
I was struggling with blender for hours, clicked every menu in blender to make volume scatter gets rendered.

Finally found out GPU support render can’t render volume scatter. CPU can render it.

Is it beta problem or am I doing something wrong?

Hi, first guess, volume on GPU work only in Experimental mode.
Setting is in Render > Feature Set
If not please upload testfile.

Cheers, mib

I just tested.
doesn’t work in experimental either.

oh, i’ll upload test file just a moment.

(5 minutes later)

ah…can’t upload files here? I didn’t subscribe file upload service yet…

I’ll subscribe to some file service and look for more about this problem and will come back later, thx anyway

Why not just use pasteall? No subscription needed.

Wow it’s amazing!

here is file…

Thx man

Works fine here, What version of Blender are you using?

2.75
radeon 7770
fx8300

Works on a Mac with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB. ( I changed the feature set to “Supported” from “Experimental” but I think it would have worked either way.)

I don’t get it…
maybe it’s windows 10 thing? I updated graphic driver recently but it’s still unstable I guess.

and why suddenly materials became purple i don’t know… all the brick texture I adjusted is invisible too.

Is that windows 10 thing maybe I’m clueless

Oh my god, my materials are jumbled in the file I uploaded…what happened? they all became ugly purple something, what’s happening in my computer? I adjusted several materials and they are invisible.

Hi, ah, volume does not work with AMD cards.
As other here I thought you are on Nvidia.
Purple something is missing textures or your .blend is at different location.

Cheers, mib

oh, of course…I forgot blend file doesn’t include textures I used… silly of me.

and… well, then I guess I’ll just use CPU render :frowning:

Thanks
