Cycles Grass Test

2.25 million blades of grass, 500 flowers. A total of 750,501 objects.
The blades of grass are about 66 faces each at there base mesh resolution, multiplied by a level 1 subsurf modifier equals 132 faces each. They have a translucent green material.
The flowers are 1024 faces at there base mesh resolution, multiplied by a level 1 subsurf modifier equaling 2048 faces each. They have three materials, petals, the yellow part in the middle, and ther stem.
the ground is made from the landscape addon which is 128 faces.
1 emmision plane for the light source with a stregnth of 3.
The world is simply an internal sky texture with the brightness and contrast adjusted.
111 samples, about 8 hours to render using my CPU, GPU can’t handle it.

Looks great, but I think your grass looks a little too green. I used two different colors in my grass, a yellowish green and a hunter green, the two were blended together using a noise node. With a little bit of tweeking you could probably make your grass look a little more natural, but it looks really good.
