Cycles Material and Viewport

Why when using alpha does the correct texture show in the material preview, but in the viewport it is not showing correctly?

I’ve even downloaded some models and the same thing.

Is there a way to have the proper preview in both the viewport and material preview at the same time?

Ya, that’s the setup. When the alpha/transparency is white it shows in the mat. preview panel fine with translucent planes and black planes while in the 3d viewport. If I set the alpha/transparency node to black and click viewport shading and set to material, in the viewport it shows fine but now black in the preview channel lol.
Ok, anyways it was also another lighting problem on the model itself that was giving me trouble. It was from another software some sort of intersection or reversed uv problem IDK I noticed how to avoid it but still not sure, weird…k thx…cycles does look like a decent render when fine tuned…

Okay now I see how it’s setup. Finally!! Just the “Blender Game Material” has to be set to “alpha” also I believe. Just a little running around in the editor! Setup below…

There is a light problem on the sub-branching in the other software though. I swear on it!!

Seems the viewport transparency is reversed somehow. The material output was added in “Blender Render”, if it gets disconnected the viewport is lost to the bad image again. Is there a setting I’m missing or is it just messed like this? I can use the transparency slider though to black while not rendering. Again this doesn’t happen when I start a model in Blender, This is an import. Well, maybe I will check everywhere for transparency settings. If someone knows the setting issue please let me know!

The above does kinda work like a shadeless view. I found if it gets out of wack, to disconnect the other material output and reconnect and about 50% of the time it will revert the view back. Or just use the transparency slider for a preview if not wanting the render preview at the time. Not sure if there is suppose to be a node system on Blender Render to have the viewport show correctly under material in cycles? I know there are some strange quirks with Blender…
