Cycles materials en textures vs blender internal

Hello everybody,

I have a few questions about the use of cycles and blender render concerning the use of materials and textures. I have been using both and with cycles it looks “out of the box” more realistic. But can the same level of realism be achieved with the blender render engine. And I am trying to get to grips with uv mapping an the use of different maps specular, normal etc. Can every kind of these maps also be baked and rendered in cycles or is not everything possible yet in cycles. Does anybody know a good tutorial about the use of material en texture in cycles and use of the node editor. I have already seen a couple tutorial about uv mapping on blender cookie but they apply to blender render. In these tutorial you could also texture paint with GLSL and in another you could use vertex paint are these two the same and can they be used in cycles.

I already want to thank everybody for their time and effort

These cannot be baked in cycles, only blender internal. They can be rendered

For tutorials check out http://cgcookie.com/blender/ and http://www.blenderguru.com/, there are loads of cycles tutorials
