Cycles render not using my GPU

So I’ve been on this thread but it seems like it didn’t come into a conclusion.

I’m having the same issue. here is my system.
CPU: Ryzen 3 1200 3.0
GPU: GTX1050ti With latest Cuda Version and driver

It is being detected under system settings under CUDA and its checked. RAM is also not a problem.
infact the GPU like the thread’s issue is not being utilized at all. its always at 5% to 9% usage when rendering under GPU Compute.

Out of suspicion I tried rendering the same scene but cycles render device is set to none and to my surprise its giving me the same reading and result. This gives me a confirmation that the GPU is indeed not being utilized even if the GPU Compute is enabled. I hope you guys can help me with this.

Thanks in advance.

Best to validate the GPU usage with GPU-Z , The windows task manager does not seem like a reliable source for this information for some reason.

Yes even in GPU-Z its still gives the same readings.

I tried this and now its working perfectly.

Under Windows 10 Graphics settings, I’ve added blender and set it to High Performance.

Now on task manager it gives me a fluctuating readings of 77% to 80%. on GPU Z its full 100% when rendering.

Render results have been drastically improved as well at 3 times faster. This is the result I’m looking for

Drat!
Followed this thread exactly, even updated to Blender 2.92… TM still says I’m only using ~2-4% of my GPU, and 100% of my CPU.
(Yes, I made sure to set 2.92 as the new High Performance program after updating. Still getting the same problem.)
Are there other settings in Blender I might try adjusting? I’ve tried everything I know.

Hi. For CUDA on Windows Task Manager:
