I wanted to know if the cycles strand rendering is required when i am using dupli objects, or am i able to use an older version of blender and still have it render the objects.
I have created a grass object as part of a scene and am using cycles textures on UV mapped grouped blades of grass. Would be great to know if i could do this without the strand rendering… In the same scene i have a volumetric cloud, and wanted to try a experimental build with volume rendering. The latest version (at least that i could find) doesn’t include strand rending.
If i could do with out, then i can render my scene entirely in cycles including awesome volumetrics. If not i will experiment and let the forum know what has worked.
