Daft Punk helmet / New album celebration

I had to celebrate in some way the long awaited return of Daft Punk and a good Blender section, modeling the Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo’ helmet, seemed to me the perfect way to do it. I made this model because I wanted to test what I could achieve with poly by poly modeling tecnique. I made some topology mistakes during this, but I’m pretty happy of the final result.

I am not convinced by the colour stripes at the back: there are strangely distorted. Is that due to the UV unwrap ?

Yeah I agree the wires seem really flat. However I love the rest of the model, good job.

True, they are not so good. Anyway it’s not due to UV unwrap, because it’s not a texture but a bunch of modelled cylinders. The problem is due to the bad use of proportional editing for adapting these cylinders with the head shape. I’m sure there is a better way to do it, but actually I don’t know it.
